Karen Hutcheson has more than 20 years of experience in consulting in the areas of compensation and performance management. Currently she is the lead compensation and performance management consultant for higher education clients for Sibson Consulting, a division of Segal, and is a key member of the firm's National Higher Education Team. Karen specializes in working with public and private higher education clients in the areas of developing total rewards strategy; developing compensation programs for faculty, administration, and staff; conducting competitive pay assessments and internal equity analyses for faculty, administration, and staff; designing and implementing performance management programs; developing career ladders and skill/competency models; and conducting strategic and operational assessment of human resource functions.
Karen is a regular presenter at national and regional conferences of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. Topics of recent speeches include: gender equity in faculty pay, effective practices in performance management, strategic human resource practices, and aligning compensation and performance management programs with organizational change initiatives.
